Mass grave of members of the National Government in the Montmartre cemetery in Paris

On the Avenue des Polonais in the Montmartre cemetery, there is a mass grave containing the remains of members of the National Government. The tombstone consists of a tall block with a coffin resting on decorative legs, decorated with panoplies and a bipartite coat of arms shield with an Eagle and a Pogo - symbols of a united Poland and Lithuania, the former Republic. On the front, the tombstone is decorated with the "Star of Perseverance" in a laurel wreath, bearing the motto "Usque ad finem" (until the end), with a ribbon containing the inscription "L'orde de la persévérance" (the way of perseverance).
