Tombstone of the Uherk family

Karviná | Czech Republic

The burial site marked by a tombstone on a base, at the head of which is an aedicula on a plinth and base. The aedicula is made up of plaques arranged diagonally at the sides, covered by a wider slab with a ritual inscription (1), surmounted by an abutment closed with an overhanging segmental arch, framed on the sides by cuboids with quarter-circle chamfered corners. On the front of the pediment is a relief carved metal plaque with the head of Christ in a crown of thorns, inscribed in a cross. Below the pediment a plaque with a ritual inscription (2). Plinth consisting of five stone blocks of varying heights, a jardiniere projecting in front of the face. On the front of the jardiniere an engraved inscription (3). Gravestone consisting of two panels enclosed by a segmental arch.
