The Italian Polish community funded a plaque in memory of Henryk Sienkiewicz on the 50th anniversary of his death. The plaque is located on the wall of the Hotel d'Inghilterra, where the writer stayed in 1893. The inscription in Italian reads: "Henryk Sienkiewicz, Polish writer and patriot, epic narrator of the heroic deeds of his nation, author of the novel "Quo vadis?". Nobel Prize winner. He lived in this hotel in 1893, on the fiftieth anniversary of his death. Poles and Italians'.
