The painting 'Ascension' by Henryk Siemiradzki was painted in 1891. It is located in the Church of the Resurrectionist Friars in Rome (exact address: Via di San Sebastianello 11), to the right of the altarpiece.

Siemiradzki came to Rome in 1872, became enthralled with the city and settled here permanently. He built a villa on a hill in the suburban Via Gaeta. The house offered a view of Rome, immortalised in many of the painter's paintings.
