Pontifical Polish College in Rome

The first College for Poles was founded in 1582. The current Pontifical Polish College was erected in 1866 by Pope Pius IX. John Paul II lived in the College while he was still Karol Wojtyla, and he came here for the conclave.
In the courtyard there is a statue of Adam Mickiewicz, a sculpture of Christ "Ecce homo" and Mary by Tomasz Oskar Sosnowski (1810-1886).
