Tombeau de Catherine Opalinska

Tombstone of Katarzyna Opalinska of the coat of arms of Łodzia, Queen of Poland, Duchess of Lorraine and Bar, wife of Stanisław Leszczyński, in the church of Notre-Dame de Bonsecours in Nancy. The author of the tombstone is Nicolas-Sébastien Adam. Two years after Catherine Opalinski's death, in 1749, the tombstone was placed on the left side of the chancel. The visibly rejuvenated deceased is depicted wearing a dress, a long coat lined with ermine and sandals. She is kneeling before an angel pointing upwards with her left hand. The figures are on a tumulus, against the background of a pyramid. In front of the tomb is a crowned eagle. On the pedestal an inscription extolling the virtues of the deceased.
