Deep in the forest, in a clearing near Baranovichi, on the Brest-Slonim road, there is a cemetery for soldiers of the 78th Slutsky regiment who died in 1920. This regiment was stationed in Baranovichi. In July 1920, as part of the 4th Army, it fought heavy battles against the advancing Bolsheviks. After the victorious battle, the fallen soldiers, including 1 officer, 2 non-commissioned officers and 20 privates, were buried in several graves and a monument was erected to them. Unfortunately, the names of the fallen are unknown. The cemetery consists of four plots with soldiers' graves and an approximately 5-metre high monument-cross made of stone blocks centrally located between them. On the pedestal of the monument, under a bas-relief laurel wreath, an inscription is engraved: "To the fallen 78 Slutsk pp. 19 July 1920. Colleagues". The renovation of the cemetery was carried out in 2020 by the Foundation in Aid to Poles in the East, as part of a task co-financed by the programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage 'Places of National Remembrance Abroad'. As the material of the tombstones and the base of the monument was severely damaged, their granite replicas were made; the remaining elements of the monument underwent conservation.
