Biography:

Tomasz Oskar Sosnowski (1810-1886) was a Polish sculptor. He studied drawing with Antoni Blank and sculpture with Paweł Maliński. He then studied in Berlin under Christian Rauch and in Rome in the atelier of Pietro Tenerani. In 1843, he came to Warsaw and after three years left for Rome, where he became professor of sculpture at the Academy of St Luke. He remained abroad for the rest of his life.
