Emma Bartelmus (1891-1972), Polish musician and pedagogue. Graduate of the Higher School of Music in the department of education
. music and singing teachers in secondary general schools and teachers' seminaries . Active in the musical life of Warsaw, to which she moved in 1925. A member and long-term vice-president of the Fraternal Aid Society of the students of the Warsaw State Conservatory. From 1925, she was associated with the Society of Friends of Chopin's House. In the 1930s, she stayed with her husband in Croatia. They returned to Poland in 1946. They settled in Świdnica, where Bartelmus established, with Władysław Skawina and B. Lesiecka the Private School of Music. The school was nationalised and renamed the First Grade Music School in 1953, and she also taught in other educational establishments and gave private tuition.
