Cemetery in Komargrad

The Komargrad cemetery lies in the northern part of the village. Its condition can only be described as residual. Zbigniew Hauser managed to find only six tombstones with Polish inscriptions. The dates of death of those buried range from 1863 to 1908.

Three of the tombstones found are broken. The best preserved tombstone is that of Maria Bratyńska (d. 1908) - a stone monument topped by a cross with a black marble inscription plaque.

Probably more impressive was the tombstone from the second half of the 19th century in brown marble, under which five members of the Perlowski family were buried. Unfortunately, Hauser found only the plinth, already without the cross. The pedestal was engraved with a quote from Scripture: "And the dust shall return to its earth from which it was / And the spirit shall return to the God who gave it / Ekkles. VII. 7".

Cemetery with Polish grave monuments. Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).
