Tombstone of Maria and Piotr Żejmo

Burial place marked by cross on plinth and base. Cast-iron cross with arms ending in a stylised trillium, inside a panel repeating its shape, on a plinth. Originally a figure of Christ at the intersection of the arms. The plinth tapers towards the top. Engraved inscriptions to the front and right. Tombstone on high band, on which a fence of concrete posts, covered by a hipped roof, originally connected in each bay by two cast-iron bars; on the front, left, a chain-link. At the sides, on the central posts, flowerbeds in the form of a spell.

According to the information obtained from his family, Piotr Żejmo held the Sas coat of arms and was a railway engineer by profession. He died from wounds received in September 1908 in Bezdany while driving train No. 4 on the Vilnius-Petersburg route. The son of Piotr and Maria was Piotr (born 1905), an employee of the library of Batory University.
