Biography:

Henryk Stażewski (1894-1988), born in Warsaw, painter, representative of Constructivism. Between 1913 and 1919, he studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts in the atelier of Stanisław Lentz. He was associated with an avant-garde group called the Polish Expressionists, renamed the Formists in 1919. He made his debut in 1920 together with the Formists at the Warsaw Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. He was one of the founders of the Cubist, Constructivist and Suprematist group 'Blok', as well as the Praesens and a.r. groups.
