Cemetery in Kosovo Poleski

The Roman Catholic parish cemetery was established in the early 19th century. The site is located on the south-eastern edge of the village and covers an area of approximately 0.6 hectares. The condition of the cemetery is good, the gravestones are cared for by the residents and the parish. The cemetery chapel, erected in 1859 on the grave of Father Adam Dmochowski, has been preserved in the cemetery. The front elevation of the chapel has old stones and gravestones built into it, which, together with the chapel, are the oldest objects in the cemetery. One of the slabs is a triangular slab with a coat-of-arms shield and the Szeliga coat-of-arms under the mitre, commemorating Ignatius Montwid Wiązewicz from 1820. Around the chapel are the oldest burials, including the tombstone of Kazimiera Skażewska (d. 1842), the tombstone of Alex Roszkiewicz (d. 1870).

Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
