Cemetery in Krupa

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, the cemetery has a roughly square plan and is surrounded by a metal fence. There are no burials in the southern part. It was established around the middle of the 19th century. Few tombstones from this century have survived, "nowadays styleless contemporary tombstones prevail". The oldest, from 1869, has the form of a granite obelisk with a cast iron crucifix and belongs to Maciej Gieisztow. The inscription reads: "TU POGRZEBIONY Ś. P. MACIEI WALENTY / GIEISZTOW / BORN 14 FEBRUARY 1796 R. / DIED 3 MARCH 1869 / ASKS PASSERS-BY TO GIVE A PIOUS SIGH".
