Biography:

Krzysztof Wodiczko born in 1943 in Warsaw, son of the conductor Bohdan Wodiczko, visual artist and art theoretician. He studied at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He worked as a designer in industrial plants, first at UNITRA Warsaw and then at Polskie Zakłady Optyczne in Warsaw. In 1977 he moved to Canada, where he worked at the University of Guelph, the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. In 1983 he moved to New York and in 1991 to Boston where he taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1994 he became director of the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT. He currently teaches at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. In 2007, he received an honorary doctorate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan.
