Cemetery in Lyntupy

The active Catholic (former parish) cemetery, established in the mid-19th century, is located on the southern edge of the village. The cemetery has a trapezoidal ground plan and is located on a flat area. It occupies an area of 2.5 hectares and is enclosed by a stone wall (on the east north and south sides) and a gate (on the east side). There is no division into alleys and plots. A path runs through the cemetery with 14 stations of the cross. These take the form of two-storey stone and brick chapels, covered with sheet metal roofs. The oldest dated gravestone is a granite slab, slanted, topped with an iron cross and belongs to Honorata Wołk. The cross is decorated with an artistic lettering arrangement. The gravestone in the central part of the cemetery dates from 1866. It has the following preserved inscription: /HERE I BURIED MY HAPPY BIRTH/ JUL HONORATA/ KAZIMIERZA'S Daughter/ WOŁK/ AGED 33/ UM. 29 7bra 1866/ FOREVER AFTER YOU/ I weep T:HR./.
Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
