Biography:

Adam Ballenstedt (1880-1942), born in Poznań, son of Bolesław and Aniela née Ławicka. He graduated from grammar school in Poznań. From 1901 to 1903 he studied architecture at the polytechnic in Charlottenburg, and then in Karlsruhe. There he obtained his diploma in 1905. He settled in Manheim, where he worked in collaboration with the architect Hugo Detert (Office Detert and Ballenstedt ). In 1918 he returned to Poznan. He was the first secretary of the Circle of Architects at the Association of Technicians in Poznan. He was involved in political activity. He belonged to the National Workers' Party, and from 1923 to 1925 he was chairman of the provincial board of the NPR for Wielkopolska.
