Jan Łaski Library

Jan Łaski, also known by his Latin name Johannes a Lasco, was born in 1499 into a Polish noble family. He was first a Catholic priest, then an Evangelical-Reformed theologian, the most prominent Polish Reformation activist, humanist, writer, translator, diplomat, and secretary to King Sigismund I the Old. He organised evangelical churches in East Friesland and England and established the Calvinist Church in Poland.
