A short documentary and educational film about the life and work of Bronisław Piłsudski, particularly as an ethnographer and researcher of peoples in Sakhalin and Podhale. The picture is illustrated with black-and-white photographs that Piłsudski took in Sakhalin and Japan. The soundtrack includes a recording of the folklore of the Ajns and the highlanders of Podhale.

Bronislaw, Jozef's older brother, as some researchers of the great ethnographer's biography say, is better known east of the Dnieper and the Volga to America than Jozef, while the later Marshal of Poland is known from the Volga to the West.
