Lazduny cemetery

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, the active Catholic cemetery is located in the western part of Lazdun. It has a rectangular plan, 0.24 hectares in area and was fenced with a metal mesh. The cemetery was established in the second half of the 19th century. The oldest gravestone, dating from 1899, has the form of a granite obelisk and crowns the burial place of Aleksander Dmuchowski. The inscription reads: "ALEKSANDER DMUCHOWSKI / ZM. 1899 / 1 NOVEMBER". There is also a wooden chapel in the cemetery, built in the first half of the 20th century. The cemetery is maintained in good condition.
