Major Stanislaw Zhukovsky, who was wounded on 22 September 1939 in a battle with Soviet troops near Kodziowce, was buried in the church cemetery. He died on his way to Olitsa. For many years a simple cross with a plaque stood on his grave. In 1993, the sons of the deceased founded a magnificent gravestone monument.

It is a monument of black granite with an inscription in Polish placed on a horizontal slab. The whole is crowned with a cross. The inscription: "Major of the Polish Armed Forces Stanisław Żukowski, born in 1896. Commander of the 101st Uhlan Regiment fell in battle with the Bolsheviks near Kodziowce near Grodno on 22 September 1939. Honour to His Memory". The monument is decorated with a photograph of Major.
