On the night of 19 to 20 June 1940, soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Rifle Division fighting in France crossed the Swiss border. They were interned by the Swiss authorities and remained in that country until the end of the war. Within Switzerland, there are graves of deceased soldiers of the 2nd DSP scattered in various localities. In Bern, 11 soldiers who died between 1941 and 1949 are buried in a common plot in the Bremgarten cemetery, while in the cemetery of the Bern-Wankdorf Jewish community, at 112 Papiermühlestrasse, rifleman Władysław Parlamuter, who died in 1941, is buried. The gravestone consists of a border filled with grit and a vertical plaque bearing a divisional eagle and below it a plaque with the inscription: "BP / strz. 4 W.P.S.P. / PARLAMUTER WŁADYSŁAW / UR. 8 X 1907 / DIED. 24 II 1941". This grave underwent conservation work in 2017 with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The restoration was carried out thanks to the cooperation of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bern and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
