Tomb of Home Army soldier Kazimierz Józef Orłowski

On 22.10.1943 Kazimierz Józef Orłowski, pseud. "Wierny", "Ziutek", commander of the Home Army post in the Kajetaniszki - Andreszyszki farmstead, was shot dead in Ropiejy. Captured by the Soviets, he was tortured in front of his wife and daughter in order to force him to surrender his fellow combatants and hidden weapons. Taken out into the forest, he pretended to dig up weapons and also tried to actively resist his tormentors, but was shot dead. He was buried in the cemetery in Jurgielany. This grave is located to the right of the cemetery entrance, in the first row, almost at the edge of the necropolis.

This grave was looked after for many years by a resident of Jurgielany - Barbara Sidorowicz, a social activist and poet of the Trakai region. On 22.10.2003 the consecration of a monument on the grave of "Faithful" took place. The monument was erected on the initiative of B. Sidorowicz and the circle of the Union of Poles in Lithuania in Polukun. The inscription reads: "Kazimierz Orłowski / pseud. "Ziutek", "Wierny" / P.P. AK / 1911-1943".

His symbolic grave is located in the cemetery in Skorbuciany.
