Louis Charles Antoine Alexis Count Morand, born 4 June 1771 in Pontarlier, died 2 September 1835 in Paris, son of Alexis François Morand and Jeanne Claudine Marie Roussel de la Loyere (1745-1809), Count of the French Empire, general during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. He fought in many of the most important battles of his time, including the battles of Austerlitz, Borodino and Waterloo. In 1808, he married a Polish woman, Emilia Parys of the coat of arms Prawdzic, daughter of Count Parys, in Warsaw in the presence of Davout and Prince Józef Poniatowski. They settled together in Paris, where they had five sons, not counting their daughters. After the fall of Napoleon, he fled from the terror of the Bourbons to Poland, where he settled with his wife at the Kawenczyn estate near Jędrzejów. He lived there from 1818 to 1819, leading the life of a landowner. After his pardon, he returned to France with his family; He was buried in the Père-Lachaise cemetery - his body was later moved to the Morand family tomb in Doubs Montbenoît opposite the abbey in the same town. He rests in the family tomb with his wife Emilia Parys. Morand's name is engraved on the Arc de Triomphe ( http://radwan.org.pl/ ).

Son of Louis Charles Antoine Alexis Morand, count, lieutenant general of the French army, decorated Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour, and Émile Lucia Parys, countess d'Allermagne (ADep Doubs, AN Montbenoît No. 38 of 1828). Husband of Marie Eugenie Cauthion (1837-1879), whom he married on 16 May 1857 at Fontainebleau. From this marriage came children Paul Louis Morand, Baron (1858-1871), Emile Eugène Morand (b. 1860), Charles Louis Marie Morand (1866-1957), Anne Marguerite Pauline Morand (1868-1942).
