Graves of Poles from World War II Waldfriedhof

The Wilmersdorfer Waldfriedhof cemetery in Güterfelde contains two burial sites for Polish citizens. The first is a grave field with urns of Sachsenhausen concentration camp prisoners murdered between 1940 and 1942, among them urns with the ashes of 383 Poles. The second is the area of the Soviet Güterfelde Mausoleum, where, in addition to 1389 citizens of the USSR, among others, were buried. 101 Polish citizens. The ashes of forced labourers, prisoners and prisoners of war, exhumed from the foreigners' cemetery in the village of Mahlow, were also transferred to this cemetery. A total of 484 Poles are buried in Güterfelde.

In 2020-2021, the Polish-German Reconciliation Foundation, as part of a task supported by the Ministerial Programme "Sites of National Remembrance Abroad", compiled data on those buried and made it available, together with a description of the cemetery, on the website of the project "Polish Memorials and War Graves in Germany": https://polskiegroby.pl/cmentarz.php?jez=pl&cmentarzok=1467&miejsceok=216&landok=4.
