Graves of Home Army soldiers killed by the NKVD in Bołądziszki

At the beginning of February 1945, a concentration of Home Army units under the command of Wladyslaw Janczewski "Lalusia", "Grom" and Jozef Sakowicz "Hajduk" took place in the vicinity of Soleczniki in connection with a planned retaliatory strike against an NKVD unit, quartered in Naczy. On 6.02.1945 "Hajduk", whose group remained in Bołądziszki, a few kilometres distant, came to "Lalusia" unit, seeking help in disciplinary matters. Unfortunately, in the absence of the unit commander, an NKVD operative group appeared in Palaediski and surprised and disarmed "Hajduk's" group without a fight. When "Hajduk" together with the delegated partisan from "Lalus" - Michał Rzuchowski "Szary" appeared in Boladziszki, they were killed by the Russians. At the sound of shots coming from Boladziszki, "Lalus" picked up his unit and rushed to help. The NKVD group evaded the fight. The Soviets hurriedly shot 8 disarmed partisans and 2 hosts (Jan Ornowski and Stanislaw Bartoszewicz), after which they withdrew. After this incident, the planned attack on the NKVD in Naczy by the AK units was called off.

Jan Ornowski and Stanislaw Bartoszewicz were buried in the cemetery in Ejszyszki, while the slain AK soldiers were buried in the cemetery located on the Versoka estate, which belonged to Adam Szalewicz. At least 13 graves of AK soldiers have been preserved in this cemetery to the present day. They have different forms and do not constitute a single quarter. The largest quarter of these graves is located in the depth of the cemetery - it is a group of 8 nameless earth graves with small crosses without inscriptions. The second quarter is located in the centre of the necropolis and consists of 4 graves: two nameless and two containing inscriptions: "Michał / Rzuchowski / 3 IV 1920 - 6 II 1945 / Resurrection / grant o Lord" // "Ś.P. / Józef Więckiewicz / "Wiaterek" / V bat. 77 p.p. Land / Novogrudok / 1923 - 6.II.1945 / Honour His memory!". According to some sources, in the above-mentioned two unnamed graves rest two soldiers of "Lalusia" unit - Stanisław Krukowski "Młot" and Jan Grzywacz "Komar", killed in May 1945 in battle with the NKVD near the village of Wojdagi. Just at the entrance to the cemetery there is another grave - on the cross is engraved the inscription: "Ś.P. / Soldier / unknown / AK". In addition, there are several more nameless graves in the cemetery - it is currently unknown who lies in them.
