Biography:

Jadwiga Stanisława Mrozowska, also Toeplitz-Mrozowska (1880-1966), born in Janowice Poduszowskie. Her musical education began in the piano class at the Music Institute, and in 1900 she completed the first course of the Drama Class at the Warsaw Music Society. That same year she made her debut on the theatre stage in Chmielnik.

From 1900 to 1901, she performed at the Municipal Theatre in Lviv, and then, from 1903 to 1905, at the Municipal Theatre in Krakow. She spent the following years (1905-1907) performing in Warsaw, including at the Summer Theatre in 1905 and at the Warsaw Government Theatres from 1906 to 1907. Her career also included individual performances in cities such as Vilnius, Kaunas, Minsk, Lodz, Kalisz, Warsaw and Mogilev.

In 1906. Mrozowska took singing lessons with Jan Reszke in Paris. In May 1907, she travelled to Italy, where she initially performed in provincial opera houses and made her debut in Venice in 1913.

From 1919 to 1927 she was involved in travelling. In 1929, she led an expedition to the Pamir to explore the area around Lake Zurkul. In 1930, she wrote an account of this expedition, publishing it under the title 'La prima spedizione italiana attraverso i Pamiri'. Mrozowska was also the author of travel books such as 'Visioni orientali' (Milan, 1930) and 'Sine ira...' (Milan, 1933), as well as the novel 'L'aspra ricerca'.
