Biography:

Jan Julian Nalborczyk (1870-1940), born in Krakow, sculptor and pedagogue, connected with Lviv.

He taught modelling at the Faculty of Architecture of the Lviv Polytechnic, where he became a professor. He also taught at the State Industrial School there. He was a co-founder of the local artistic environment and an active participant in the struggle for independence - as a defender of Lviv and a Silesian insurgent.

He collaborated on sculptures in the Cemetery of the Defenders of Lviv, and left numerous works in the Lychakiv Cemetery and in the Zakopane parish church.

In 1940 he was arrested and murdered by the NKVD in Lviv.
