Biography:

Janusz Pasierb (1929-1993), born in Warsaw, Catholic priest, poet, essayist, historian of art and culture.

He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Higher Theological Seminary in Pelplin (1952). He was vicar in Grudziądz and Reda. In addition, he was educated at the Academy of Catholic Theology, the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw, the Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology in Rome and the University of Freiburg. He obtained his doctorates in theology (1957) and archaeology (1962), his habilitation in 1964, the title of associate professor (1972) and full professor (1982).

Author of seven volumes of essays and thirteen collections of poetry. Debuted in 1972 in Tygodnik Powszechny. Member of the editorial board of numerous academic journals. Honorary Citizen of the City of Tczew (1991).
