Biography:

Jerzy Fedkowicz (1891-1959), born in Stefanówka, son of Zygmunt and Anna (née Rzewuska), painter-colourist. He studied in Moscow and St Petersburg, and from 1915 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wojciech Weiss. Between 1921 and 1923, he continued his studies in Paris. He taught drawing in Kraków and designed scenographies for the Słowacki Theatre. He took part in exhibitions at home and abroad, including the Venice Biennale. Since 1945 he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
