Biography:

Jerzy Szeptycki (1915-2004), born in Grodno. He studied architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. He was involved in reviewing exhibitions and art criticism in the daily ABC, where he wrote under the pseudonym Jerzy Stokowski. During World War II, he was a member of the Civil Service of the Nation and the National Armed Forces. He was a Warsaw insurgent. After the war, in 1948, he left for the United States of America. There, he studied architecture at the University of Southern California. He worked at the Disney Studio from 1954 to 1956, where he was in charge of designing Disneyaland. From 1955, he ran his own studio, specialising in religious buildings, of which he completed 30 in California alone. He was involved in activities for the Polish community. He died in Los Angeles.
