Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz, coat-of-arms Rawicz (1758-1841), born in Skoki in Polesia, son of Marceli, a Mielnicki foreman, and Jadwiga née Suchodolska, Polish playwright, poet, historian, publicist, member of the Commission of National Education (1791-1792), aide-de-camp to the commander of the Lithuanian army, Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski, member of the Society of Friends of Learning, author of novels, fairy tales and poems, among others.Author of novels, fairy tales and poems, e.g. Jan of Tęczyn (1824), Powrót posła [Return of the Messenger] (1790), Śpiewy historyczne [Historical Songs] (1816), and Poem listowny do Szymanowskiego [Letter to Szymanowski] (1783).
