Krzyż na grobach obywateli polskich, którzy zginęli w specposiołku Żarowaja

Zharovaya was one of a number of so-called specposiołki, where Poles deported during World War II from the former Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic were settled. The deportees were forced to work beyond their strength, which resulted in a high mortality rate among the settlers.

On the basis of documents preserved in the archives of the Verkhnevo district, it has been established that at least five Poles are buried in the cemetery located next to the former specposiolk.

In 2010, members of the Polish-Russian Remembrance Expedition placed a wooden cross, decorated with a red and white rosette, on one of the surviving graves of this cemetery.
