Biography:

Leopold Kretz was born on 4 February 1907 in Kloczów. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the patronage of Count Andréa Sheptisky, and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under the tutelage of Dunikowski. In 1931, he emigrated to France. After the war, he set up a studio in rue d'Arsonval and taught drawing and modelling. He was vice-president of the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts in the second half of the 1970s and died on 16 April 1990.
