Biography:

Lucjan Skupiewski (1876-1949), born in Warsaw, son of Józef, doctor, politician and social activist connected with Bucharest. From childhood, he lived in Romania, where he completed his medical studies and specialised in gynaecology and surgery. He was active in the National Liberal Party and served several times in the Bucharest City Council and Senate. He was an important figure in the political and social life of interwar Romania, maintaining contacts with Józef Piłsudski, among others. He cultivated his Polish ancestry and supported the Bucharest Polish community. He died in Bucharest in 1949.
