Biography:

Ludomił Gyurkovich, born in Stanisławów, son of Leon Gyurkovich and Jadwiga, née Szulisławska, architect, defender of Lviv. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Lviv (1926). From 1921 to 1926, he was an assistant, and then a designer at the Department III of the Lviv City Hall. From 1924 to 1930, he was an assistant and then a lecturer at the Department of Urban Construction of the Lviv Polytechnic. In 1938 he moved to Lutsk, where he became head of the Planning Section at the Regional Planning Office of the Provincial Office. During the occupation, he was a member of the Home Army under the pseudonym "Brytan", and worked, among other things, as a district architect in Opatów. In the post-war years he worked in various state institutions and construction companies.
