Biography:

Martynian (religious name) Franciszek Jakub Możejewski, (1830-1899), Polish writer, Polish activist, member of the Reformati. He entered the order in 1849 in Zaręby Koscielne. In 1888, he arrived in the United States and entered the Polish Reformed Franciscan monastery in Pulaski (state of Wisconsin). In 1889, he briefly assumed the parish of St Josaphat in Chicago. In 1890, he became pastor of St Adalbert's parish in Buffalo, where he began the construction of a new church. Candidate for the first Polish bishop in the USA. In June 1891, he left for Brazil, returning to the States in 1893. He was active as a pastor in various parishes and as a missionary. He died in1899 at Two Rivers. His writings include Teachings to Facilitate the Understanding of the Pace, the Commandments of God, the Church, and Other Truths of the Holy Faith (1881 ), Catechism Manual for Major and Minor Teach ings ( 1887 ), The Way to Heaven through the Cross and Thorns.... (1887), Words of truth on drunkenness and sobriety and advice for the sober (1863) and published in the Catholic Review, From the diaries of a missionary (from 20.11.1893 to 05.02.1984).
