Biography:

Mieczysław Welter was born on 4 September 1928 in Śrem. He studied at the Secondary School of Fine Arts and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He travelled and created all over the world and since 1960 one could also see his individual exhibitions in many cities. He is the author of, among others, monuments to Nicolaus Copernicus in Frombork and Mexico, as well as monuments to Fryderyk Chopin in Słupsk and Palma de Mallorca.
