Tombstone of Ignacy Levkovich

Burial site marked by a cross stylised as a tree trunk, on a rock-form plinth. On the plinth at the front an inscribed plaque with a ritual inscription.

In the file of Wacław Wejtka, under the letter L, card number 80, on which the date and location of the gravestone are missing. Obisis of the gravestone: "The gravestone is a stone in the shape of a 'wild' rock. At the top of it an iron cross made of rods imitating birch branches. The inscription above expressing the name, dates of birth and death engraved and lavishly gilded". The file also contains a biography of the deceased: "Nader took a private piano music teacher in Vilnius; an excellent composer; in order to make a living he resold his musical compositions to his wealthy pupils e.g. the late Pnau J. K.... having pretensions of passing himself off as a composer in the days of the circle of his colleagues, adopted and acquaintances and publishing these lovely pieces in print under his own name. He wrote mazurkas, waltzes and cadillas'. According to the file of Lucjan Uziębła (card no. 135/27), the inscription reads: Ignacy / Lewkowicz / Music teacher and composer / Died 15 July 1862 //. In Wejtka's file: "Literary Pamietnik Literacki, Rom. Podberczki of 1844, p. 173; Teliński k 106 / (Antoni Lazarowicz)".
