Marie Dubas, born on 3 September 1894 in Paris (15th arrondissement) (AdP AN Paris 15e no. 2176 of 1894), died on 21 February 1972 in Paris (16th arrondissement) in her flat at 7 avenue de la Grande Armée (AdP AD Paris 16e no. 325 of 1972). An operetta singer and actress, she studied at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique with P. Mounet. Compared to Édith Piaf, she was one of France's leading lyrical artists ( dutempsdescerisesauxfeuillesmortes.net) . Daughter of Issac Dubas, a rubber manufacturer, and Pauline Muschtat. (AdP AN Paris 15e no. 2176 of 1894). Married to Georges Rogers Adolphe-Bellair (married 1951 in Paris, 17th arrondissement, divorced 1956) (AdP AN Paris 15e no. 2176 of 1894), partner of Ferdinand Marie Pierre Benoit (1886-1962), writer ( geneanet.org ). Mother of the singer François Bellair. Recipient of the Legion of Honour. Buried in the Père-Lachaise cemetery ( appl-lachaise.net ).
