The painting 'Ascension' by Henryk Siemiradzki was painted in 1891. It is located in the Church of the Resurrectionist Friars in Rome (exact address: Via di San Sebastianello 11), to the right of the altar. It was executed in oil on canvas.

Siemiradzki arrived in Rome in 1872, became enamoured with the city and settled here permanently. He built a villa on a hill in the suburban Via Gaeta. The house offered a view of Rome, immortalised in many of the painter's paintings.
