Astronomical and meteorological observatory on the summit of Mount Pop Ivan

The Marshall Józef Piłsudski Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory is a former Polish observatory, colloquially known as the `White Elephant'. `It is located on Mount Pop Ivan, in the Czarnohora mountain range in the Eastern Beskids in Ukraine. Construction of the observatory lasted from 1936 to 1938. In 2018, the Polonika Institute financed, among other things, the reconstruction of the reinforced concrete slab of the roof.
