Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in Bogotá

Unveiled in 1974 by Tadeusz Łodzian and Wacław Mazurek, the Nicolaus Copernicus monument was a gift from the communist authorities to the city of Bogotá as part of the governments' efforts to restore diplomatic relations, which were suspended in 1952. In 2017, the object underwent a major restoration. The sculpture is made of sandstone and is approximately 6 m high.
