Biography:

Stanisław Czajkowski (1878-1954), Polish painter. He initially studied painting with Wojciech Gerson. Between 1896 and 1903, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, in 1898 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, between 1904 and 1906 at the Académie Julian in Paris, then at the Academy of Fine Arts under Jan Stanislawski. From 1908 he was a member of the Society of Polish Artists "Sztuka". During the First World War he stayed in the Netherlands, where he became more familiar with the works of 17th-century masters. In 1926, he moved permanently to Warsaw. Between 1927 and 1928, he taught a course in landscape painting at the School of Fine Arts. From 1950, he was a professor of drawing and painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He created mainly landscapes and paintings of rural themes. Brother of Józef Czajkowski.
