Biography:

Tadeusz Józef Roman Podjazd-Morgenstern (1895-1973), Polish military officer, commander of the Polish Navy, appointed Rear Admiral by General Władysław Anders in 1964. During World War I, he served in the Austrian army. In 1918, he joined the Polish Army. He was the originator of the navy uniform (1921). After the outbreak of the Second World War, he made his way to Paris. In 1939, he became a naval attaché in Sweden, and in 1942 in the USA. In 1941, he was appointed deputy chief of Naval Direction. After the end of the war, he remained in exile. Appointed president of the Naval Association in 1949. He published memoirs, drawings and watercolours. He died in 1973 in London. Decorated with, among others, the Silver Cross of the Military Order of Virtuti Militari No. 4021, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, twice the Cross of Valour, the Golden Cross of Merit and the Order of the Legion of Honour.
