Conservation workshop at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vinnytsia (Ukraine)

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the mid-18th century to a design by Bernard Meretyn. The building has not yet been surveyed.

In 2019, under the direction of Dr. Pavel Bolinsky (Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow), in cooperation with the Lviv National Academy of Art, conservation internships were held for students of the Lviv university at the 18th-century paintings. As part of the internship, stratigraphic research was carried out on the wall layers in the interior of the church, and the paintings on the western wall were uncovered from under the plaster.

In 2020, the polychromes of the choir bay of the church were uncovered.
