The Temple Complex at Karnak

Karnak, a village that was part of ancient Thebes, is home to a complex of temples dedicated to the Theban gods. Karnak's heyday was during the New Kingdom period - 1570-1070 BC. The Polish traveller and archaeologist commemorated his stay in 1850 by leaving an inscription on one of the columns reading "K. Wróblewski."
