Biography:

Zygmunt Dzierla (1906-2006), carpenter. He was associated with Warsaw for almost all of his adult life. He attended evening school at the Museum of Craft and Applied Arts. He worked at the Warsaw Stylish Furniture Factory Z. Szczerbiński i S-ka, in the furniture companies of Michał Smolikowski, Ksawery Koczalski and Wacław Wojciechowski. He belonged to the Guild and was an expert of the Warsaw Chamber of Crafts. In 1955, he obtained the title of master sculptor. He also completed a six-month course in art history at the University of Warsaw. From 1973 he cooperated with the Civic Committee for the Rebuilding of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. He reconstructed 60 frames for paintings from the Stanislaw Gallery. He also made hundreds of reconstructions of objects for the furnishings of the Stanisławów interiors. He significantly contributed to the reconstruction of the heritage of Poland and Warsaw. He died in 2006.
