Participants of the January Uprising of 1863, killed in skirmishes with units of the Tsarist army near Prepuntia and the surrounding area, are buried here. One of these battles took place on 24.08.1863 near Stankuny. The insurgents' detachment was commanded by Captain Laudanski. The insurgents lost 12 men, the rest of the unit withdrew to the Augustów district. The grave is located near the road, among old trees. An old wooden cross stands on the grave, and a wooden chapel pillar has been erected nearby.
