Perm was one of the places of forced settlement of Polish exiles repressed for their participation in the January Uprising. In the local cemetery, many Poles who died between 1864 and 1866 found their eternal resting place. Some individual graves have survived to the present day, others have been obliterated by the passage of time. In 1998. The Council for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Remembrance erected a symbolic tomb in the Perm cemetery, dedicated to the deceased deportees. The commemoration is in the shape of a shrine, the inscription reads: "To the deceased Poles / in the years 1864, 1865, 1866 / Comrades in exile / dedicate a memorial. / Compatriots' prayers / are dedicated to their souls. / Eternal rest / may the Lord grant them".
